Demonstrate how the exported media product meets the client brief (M4)

The use of TV advertising-style scenes will likely act as nostalgia appeal to the brief's implied target age range in and of itself, as members of Gen Z likely grew up watching traditional linear TV and its constant advertising. The same can be said for the VHS aesthetic and the use of the 4:3 aspect ratio throughout. All of these are things which this generation has largely moved on from, making their use here serve as something of a throwback to their childhoods. This is especially significant as the nature of the short's distribution will be such that those explicitly in search of such nostalgic content will be the ones to naturally find it.

The implication of some form of malicious or otherwise suspicious company will likely appeal to Gen Z, as there are heightened fears of such situations, and it is becoming increasingly commonplace to question such entities and their true intentions. The very brief appearance of the menacing terms and conditions show an underlying sinister nature to the company.

The use of blood in the short is very much in line with traditional horror conventions, likely causing a visceral reaction in viewers.

The sudden switch back to the normality of packing a suitcase acts as a contrast to the dark nature of the events which have happened since. This sudden shift highlights the contrast and makes the horror all the more dark and tense, an implied requirement of the brief as a horror film.

The slight jumpscare of the sound played when the CRT switches from showing only static to showing the introductory video is in line with the horror convention of jumpscares, while also appealing to the nostalgia once again with the use of the CRT - something else likely from viewers' childhoods.

The inclusion of this seemingly endless series of hallways acts as a reference to the popular online concept known as 'The Backrooms', which will likely appeal to Gen Z due to their being the most online generation. The concept itself draws on fears of being lost and alone, as well as that of the unknown, all of which being very strong horror conventions.

The sudden shift back to normality from this highest peak of the short once again acts as a contrast, while somewhat maintaining suspense with the audience being left wondering what happened to Travis. This combination will appeal to the horror-movie-going audience thanks to the tension and unanswered questions.
