Create production material that follows the codes and conventions of the chosen genre for the media product (P4/M3)

Call Sheets Asset Log     Shot Log Evidence of Camera Set-Up and Shooting Evidence of CGI set-up, animation and rendering (using motion tracking data imported from video) Evidence of recording film to VHS and re-capturing for accurate effect, adjusting tracking to add more distortion Codes and Conventions The short will adhere to a number of codes and conventions of the horror genre, as well as those of the subgenres of found footage and analogue horror. Examples of these include the strong and authentic VHS effect present throughout the film. There will also be a jumpscare of sudden noise from a TV, likely helping to cause a visceral reaction of fear in viewers (Rick Altman's audience pleasures).  The film will also be visually dark, another convention of the horror genre. In line with Steve Neale's repetition and difference, the concept of a cult-like organisation is something which has been done before, but not mixed with more recent analogue horror-styl...

Legal and ethical issues are identified and resolved for the planned production (M2)

Shooting Location Tech Scouting Checklist - Ensures that the planned location(s) are well suited for both the needs of the shoot and also those of the cast and crew. It allows the personnel involved in the production to be aware of any limitations ahead of time and give them time to prepare for these in advance. Due to the nature of the small and potentially mildly dangerous shed location in which the majority of the film is to be recorded, this is of great importance. Risk Assessment - Allows the cast and crew to prepare for or simply be aware of any potential dangers and/or hazards present at the location of the shoot. In terms of our shoot, the small enclosed space once again poses potential risks which need to be considered ahead of time. Location Shoot Agreement/Location Release Form - Ensures that the owner(s) of any property which you hope to record content on and/or in have given their written permission for you to do so. This ensures that there are no legal issues in use of...

Justify content, distribution and marketing methods identified for the planned production to meet a client brief (M1)

Content Audience research conducted earlier in pre-production determined that one of the most popular film series within the Gen Z demographic is Saw, giving us an idea that horror is a very popular genre within this group. Millennials were discovered to make up around 40% of horror movie fans, and were also the first generation to be introduced to The Blair Witch Project, meaning that there is a higher chance that they will have some nostalgia for the found footage subgenre. Distribution The audience research I conducted earlier in pre-production revealed that a reasonable amount of members of the Millennial and Gen Z generations - this film's target demographics - are still fans of watching films in cinemas. Evidence suggests that (at least pre-COVID in 2019) Gen Z are the most frequent cinemagoers, with 43% saying they'd seen a film in a cinema within the past month. As such, we will aim to give the film a limited cinema release before working out a deal with...

Create sample materials to support the proposal (P2)

Script: Open with an entirely blue screen, as a 'play' icon appears in the top right-hand corner of the screen. This is followed by a second of TV static, before cutting into the very end of an advert for 'Knight-Higgs Shoes' as follows: Shot of an two individuals standing opposite each other on either side of a table. One is holding a £5 note and the other is placing a bagel into a bag slowly and cautiously while not taking their eyes off the other. Over this, the logo for 'Knight-Higgs Shoes' appears, followed by the slogan 'it's not just a shoe, it's a shoe', and the text 'Available in all good clothing retailers' below it. This pauses very briefly on its final frame before cutting to a wide shot of a cloudless, sunset sky above some slightly visible houses. The sound of birds singing can be quietly heard. The text 'get away from it all', entirely in lower case in a sans serif font, fades in in the upper left third of the frame...
